In recognition of her many years of service to JESPY House and her devotion to helping those with learning disabilities, we are pleased to name Patsy Perl as our 2018 Honoree.

Patsy has not only been a long-time board member, she has also served on the board as a Vice President and as a member of the Executive Committee. She was drawn to JESPY House as our mission is one that is close to her heart.

Patsy began her career as a Learning Disabilities Specialist, working with children, and then adults. She has a B.A. from Washington University in education and psychology and an M.A. in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University. Patsy found her work deeply rewarding. As an LD Specialist at San Diego Community College, she worked closely with students, many newly diagnosed, helping them to navigate their adult lives of work, daily living and social interactions.

After moving to New Jersey, Patsy served as an active volunteer on the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest New Jersey’s Commission for the Developmentally Disabled, where she was instrumental in assessing prospective programs and implementing them.

Patsy has been active in her local community, as well. She has been a member of Congregation Agudath Israel for 35 years. She also serves on the board of Mountain Ridge Country Club and has previously served as the Club’s Women's Golf Chair.

Patsy is married with two sons and three grandchildren. Her younger son has followed in her footsteps, teaching Special Education and working with individuals with disabilities teaching winter and summer sports.

The business manager and office administrator for Corneal Associates of NJ for 30 years, Patsy also finds time for skiing, bicycling and golfing.

Patsy is pleased and proud to be the Honoree of JESPY House’s 2018 Gala.
